Sir Demis Hassabis is stepping down from his role as chief executive of Google DeepMind amid significant leadership restructuring within the AI research division. Hassabis, a co-founder of DeepMind in 2010, will transition to the position of chair and assume a new role as chief scientist at Alphabet, Google’s parent company.
