Lewis Pullman and Danielle Brooks announced the 98th Academy Awards nominations this evening, with major nods going to two exceptional films. Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” and Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” received the most recognition.
The major nominations for both films reflect their comprehensive excellence. “One Battle After Another” received major recognition in directing, adapted screenplay, and acting categories. Leonardo DiCaprio’s leading performance earned acknowledgment, while Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, and Teyana Taylor received supporting nominations.
“Sinners” secured equally major recognition from Academy voters. The film received nods in directing, cinematography, production design, and multiple acting categories. Michael B. Jordan’s leading performance and the work of supporting cast members Delroy Lindo and Wunmi Mosaku all earned acknowledgment.
Beyond these major contenders, other films received important recognition. “Marty Supreme” earned nominations for Josh Safdie’s direction and Timothée Chalamet’s performance. “Hamnet,” directed by Chloe Zhao, and “Sentimental Value,” directed by Joachim Trier, also secured multiple nominations. However, “Homebound” notably received zero nominations.
