UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has underscored the critical importance of addressing extremism to effectively combat and eradicate terrorism. In a statement shared via his official X account, Sheikh Abdullah stressed that counterterrorism efforts must be complemented by initiatives targeting extremist ideologies to truly address the root causes of violence.
His remarks were made in the aftermath of a deadly shooting at Hamoud Church in Jordan’s Karak Governorate, which resulted in multiple casualties and injuries. The UAE condemned the attack, reiterating its firm stance against terrorism, extremism, and all forms of violence that compromise public safety and regional stability.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed solidarity with Jordan, highlighting the need for enhanced efforts to prevent extremist violence and safeguard communities. This aligns with the UAE’s broader commitment to regional security and its ongoing efforts to address both terrorism and the extremist ideologies that fuel such acts.
