The United Arab Emirates and Greece have fortified their economic collaboration by signing agreements and announcing significant investment plans at the UAE-Greece Strategic Forum in Athens. During the forum, 18 memoranda of understanding, agreements, and commercial partnerships were signed, collectively worth over €12.75 billion. This event was marked by the presence of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, alongside other senior officials and business leaders.

In addition to these agreements, the UAE declared its intention to invest an additional €15 billion in Greece. This investment initiative aims to enhance long-term economic cooperation and support projects across various strategic sectors. The sectors targeted by these agreements and investments include digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, advanced technology, renewable energy, manufacturing, logistics, ports, transport, healthcare, life sciences, and food security.

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, emphasized the growing confidence in the UAE-Greece partnership, highlighting the importance of transforming investment commitments into practical projects that foster employment and sustainable economic growth. He noted the complementary nature of the UAE and Greek economies, with the UAE serving as a global hub for trade and investment, while Greece acts as a gateway to European markets.

The forum also featured discussions on strengthening food security through resilient supply chains and expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Business-to-business meetings and investment-matching sessions provided companies with opportunities to explore joint ventures and establish new commercial partnerships.

These developments underscore the efforts by the UAE and Greece to deepen their economic ties, diversify cooperation, and promote growth led by the private sector in priority industries. The deepening relationship is seen as a pathway for businesses from both nations to expand their reach into Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
