The United Arab Emirates is bracing for a rise in temperatures and increased humidity during the Eid Al Adha holiday, as reported by the National Center of Meteorology. The upcoming week is expected to feature generally fair to partly cloudy skies, with a gradual increase in temperatures signaling the approach of summer.
As the holiday period kicks off, a slight drop in temperatures is anticipated on Sunday, potentially accompanied by fog or mist forming in some western and coastal regions at night and in the early morning. However, these cooler conditions will be short-lived, with hotter weather set to return starting Monday, aligning with the beginning of the Eid break for government workers.
During the holiday, temperatures are forecast to peak at approximately 43°C in Al Ain and 41°C in Fujairah. Light to moderate winds might occasionally reach speeds of up to 35 km/h, adding to the weather dynamics across the region.
Humidity is also expected to climb during the nights and early mornings, particularly in coastal areas. Despite these changes, the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are predicted to experience calm sea conditions, providing some respite amidst the rising temperatures.
These weather patterns reflect the UAE’s transition from a relatively mild spring into the hotter summer months, with numerous areas already recording temperatures over 40°C in recent weeks. This shift aligns with the astronomical start of summer in the northern hemisphere, which officially begins on June 21.
